How to Receive Free In-Home Care for Seniors

HOW TO RECEIVE FREE IN-HOME CARE

When a senior or disabled adult needs assistance with their daily needs, they often think that a nursing home is their only choice. However, there is a State of Florida program that can provide up to 30 hours per week of care. You can receive this free care either in your home or at an assisted living facility.  It also allows your own caregiver of choice to be compensated.

The Long-Term Care Waiver Program is designed to allow seniors and disabled adults to remain in their home or assisted living community for as long as possible by providing the in-home care they need. The program can pay for up to 30 hours a week of in-home care including:

·      Adult Companion

·      Light Cooking and Cleaning

·      Grocery Shopping

·      Taking You to Doctor Appointments

·      Assistive Care Services

·      Assisted Living Facility Services

·      Attendant Care

·      Caregiver Training

·      Case Management

·      Home Accessibility Adaptation

·      Home Delivered Meals

·      Hospice

·      Intermittent and Skilled Nursing

·      Medical Equipment & Supplies

·      Personal Care

·      Personal Emergency Response System

·      Physical, Speech and Occupational Therapy

·      Transportation

How Do I Apply for the Long-Term Care Waiver?

Olsen Law Group can help you with the process, from start to finish. This program is waitlisted. The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) will schedule a phone screening to determine the individual’s level of need for services and produce an assessed priority score between 1 and 5 (5 being the highest priority.) Be aware that this is not a time-based waitlist.  Instead, it is a priority-based waitlist. Those with the highest priority score will always be offered assistance first.
Olsen Law Group spends considerable time with our clients to help them receive a higher score. Our state-certified specialist has years of experience working at an ADRC administering this assessment to over a thousand applicants and assisting over a thousand more with the application process after being selected from the waitlist. We will review the actual questions with you to ensure you understand the intent of the questions and how the assessment is scored so you can receive the highest score and accurately reflects your true need for assistance.

How Can I Become Eligible For Free In-Home Care?

Olsen Law Group can ensure that you can become eligible for in-home care while preserving your hard-earned assets and income. You can complete a phone screening and be placed on the waitlist for services even if you are not currently financially eligible. Olsen Law Group will make sure you meet the guidelines when you are selected from the waitlist.
